As part of a restructuring program, the textile machine parts business unit is transferred to a separate company, KERN-LIEBERS Knitting Parts GmbH, becoming a legally independent 100% subsidiary of Hugo Kern und Liebers GmbH & Co. KG. A total of 340 Kern-Liebers employees are taken on by the new company. This step is an important milestone in the growth of the company, forming the basis for further expansion in the areas of development, production and sales.
A year later, the company moves into a newly built hall at the Schramberg location with 12,500 square meters of floor space.

Kern-Liebers Knitting Parts moves into a new era with its product catalog and publishes its webshop and online catalog, giving user an overview of all textile products available from the group, updated on a daily basis. In addition to the catalog feature, users also have the ability to place inquiries and orders, and to retrieve offers. This medium expands the global service around the clock, independent of time zone.
Acquisition of SAXONIA INTERNATIONAL by the KERN-LIEBERS group of companies.
The acquisition of SAXONIA INTERNATIONAL into the KERN-LIEBERS group allows the textile division to extend its expertise in the manufacture of products for Raschel and warp knitting machines and in complex assemblies for textile machinery. To ensure that they can offer customers the best possible service, KERN-LIEBERS Knitting Parts starts to concentrate on products for knitting machines, while the newly established SAXONIA Textile Parts assumes responsibility for products for Raschel and warp knitting machines. Valuable expertise in the field of needle and pin plates is acquired from Bavarian pin plate manufacturer Paul Leistner GmbH, a member of the Saxonia Group.
